As part of the extension of the fire extinguishing system network in an ATEX zone at a factory in Loire-Atlantique, our customer had to reinforce its fire system.
The ATEX zone presents an explosion risk due to the presence of flammable dust, which imposes strict constraints on the installations. Furthermore, it is not possible to drain the entire RIA network in order to guarantee the safety of the entire site during the works.
The installation of a cryogenic plug on a DN170 has ensured the continuity and efficiency of the fire-fighting network. The cryogenic plug allowed the fire-fighting network to remain loaded, so that it could be used in the event of a fire on site. This temporary isolation guarantees the safety of our customer, whose site is classified as an ATEX zone.
